Dave Pugh

So our challenge has come to an end and i can safely say that i have completed the hardest activity i have ever put myself through and i am blessed to have done with such a quality group of lads who supported me through my lowest moments and laughed with me at my best, jokers throughout they pushed me to the top and ultimatley together we have now comlpleted the challenge set by the Alfie Flynn Mullen trust.

I have had the best time and its an experience i will never forget, thanks boys! Thank you to all who have supported this journey in one way or another, thanks to my girlfriend Pippa and family for all your support, i love you all dearly!

Its nice to know that 6 days of pain, sickness, tiredness, hunger and weakness has hopefully helped bring a little baby soldier into this world strong and ready to live, thats what it is all about.

Big love to all the Kili Boys!

Day 5 - Trek to the Summit!

Day 5 was the day of our journey to the roof of Africa, this started at 10pm and we finally reached the top by 6:30am the following day. This was by far the hardest part of the whole trip and was grueling for all of us. The beauty was seen in the sunrise at the top and the pictures below give you just a taster of what it was like.
We made it to the roof : )

The reason we made it!

Day 4 - Trek to Kibo Hut through the saddle

Day 4 was our journey from Mawenzi at around 4000 meters to Kibo Hut at the base of Kilimanjaro which sits at around 5000 meters, the trek in total took us 6 hours and we arrive at Kibo by lunch. As you can see we are all in good spirits and this was a beautiful walk. : )
